Underrated TV Shows

I absolutely LOVE finding new shows to watch, and I’m always on the search. I go through shows very quickly, because I always have something on in the background. Whether I’m doing my homework, eating food (I know, this probably isn’t a very healthy habit… oops!), or even just completing chores, a good TV show is invaluable. I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite TV shows, so hopefully you will also find something you enjoy!

Psych

Psych is hands-down my favorite TV show. It follows the friendship of two best friends, Shawn and Gus. Shawn is extremely observant, and he spends a lot of his time solving small cases, which he finds through various news networks, for fun. The SBPD (Santa Barbara Police Department) begins to suspect that he is the criminal mind behind all of these cases. To get out of this, Shawn pretends to be a psychic, and is eventually hired by the SBPD. I really recommend this show, it is the perfect combination of humor, mystery, and even romance.

The Good Place

The Good Place is one of those shows that you can never get enough of. Its unexpected plot twists and character development keeps it from ever getting boring. It takes place in the afterlife, where good people are sent to The Good Place, and bad people to The Bad Place. The main character, Eleanor, realizes she was sent to the good place by mistake. She enlists the help of her new friends, Chidi, Tahani, and Jianyu, to teach her about ethics in an attempt to become a better person. This show is particularly interesting if you know a thing or two about philosophy!

Lucifer

Similar to Psych, Lucifer is also a crime / mystery show. The main character, Lucifer, escapes from his job of guarding Hell, and begins a new life in Los Angeles, CA. He retains some of his magical powers, like invincibility, and decides to use them against everyday criminals. He becomes a consultant for the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department), where he meets his love interest, Chloe. The show is about the growing friendship between Lucifer and Chloe, and also the consequences that arise from Lucifer’s absence from Hell.

Full House

Full House is an adorable, family-friendly TV show. It follows the story of the Tanner family, as well as two close friends, Joey and Jesse. This is more of a young kids show, because it teaches many important life lessons through many light-hearted and funny storylines. I watched this all the time growing up, and it still has a special place in my heart. The show is set in San Francisco, although it was actually filmed in Burbank (near LA). The house the Tanners live in is an actual house that can be visited in SF!
