I love decompressing and relaxing at night time. However, sometimes, I get caught up on mindless scrolling through social media, which in turn makes me more anxious and awake. That is the total opposite of how I want to feel before bed. Today, I am going to give you all a few relaxing things that you could add to your nighttime routine:
Journaling
You can dedicate some time to reflect on the day that you just had. Jot down any other feelings you have as well. Journaling allows you to get all your thoughts out on paper, clearing your mind.
Watch a cozy movie
Watching horror or extreme adventure may disrupt your sleep by keeping you wide awake, so try watching a comforting show. I love watching rom coms before bed.
Yoga
Evening yoga is so good for the body and mind. It releases both physical and mental tension from the day as well as allows you to become more in tune with your body.
Listen to calming music or nature sounds
These 2 activities really help quiet the mind and bring you back to the present, allowing you to ease into a deep sleep. Music is really powerful and touching.
Play some good-old fashioned board games
Getting some downtime by interacting with your family is a nice way to relax and bond. I like hosting game nights where I play cards with my family.
There are many activities you can do to wind down. Remember not to look at screens too much because they keep you awake and can have a negative impact on your mental health. Look for ways to improve your nighttime routine. Be patient and flexible with it!
