My Favorite Healthy Snacks!

I love snacking and there is nothing wrong with that, but sometimes I want something lighter that will leave me feeling less bloated at the end of the day. So I decided to buy some low-calorie snacks and try them out! Disclaimer I am not a professional dietitian, I am just letting you know my favorite snacks!

Quaker Lightly Salted Rice Cakes

Rice cakes are my go-to snack always! You can add peanut butter and blueberries or bananas on top of them. You can also add cheese or sauce on top and microwave it. A recent discovery that I am obsessed with is putting chocolate chips and microwaving it for 30 seconds to a minute (Nutella works as well). One rice cake is 35 calories but I normally have more than that because they are just so good! I recommend this as just a snack and not a full meal since it does not provide all the nutrients a full meal requires!

Halo Top Ice Cream

I love love love this ice cream brand! It tastes like normal ice cream but I never feel bloated. I think normal ice cream is so good but I always felt icky after eating too much so I tried Halo Top because my friends kept suggesting it and I was not disappointed! The vanilla ice cream has 70 calories per serving and 240 for the whole pint while also having 8 grams of fat in comparison to the 1000 calories and 64 grams fat in a normal pint of vanilla ice cream. I like to have this ice cream as a late-night snack or when I'm craving something sweet.

Skinny Pop (or homemade popcorn)

I grab a bag of Skinny Pop when I'm too lazy to make my own, but popcorn itself has many health benefits and is perfect for a snack! Homemade popcorn is super low in calories and is a really healthy snack. Microwave popcorn is so good but is not really beneficial since it has a lot of sodium and butter. Of course, it is more than okay to have microwave popcorn every once in a while, but if you'd like a healthier alternative this is the way to go.

Baby Carrots

I love eating baby carrots as a snack or adding it to a dish for lunch. Carrots are so healthy for you and I make sure to incorporate them into a lot of my meals. There are so many different ways to eat carrots; steamed, raw, baked, microwaved. All vegetables are super important to eat throughout the day, this is just my favorite one.

Vegan Robs Vegan Cauliflower Puffs

I have just recently discovered these and wanted to try them out and I was not disappointed. They had the same crunch as Pirate Booty but tastes slightly different. These are about 140 calories per serving and are good for savory cravings. I really like these and I hope you try them!

Please remember that although I have only listed lower-calorie foods it is completely fine to treat yourself with normal snacks as well. Also remember it is important to have a balanced diet of around 2,000 calories filled with fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, and grains!
