Once the pandemic started, I eyed the skyrocketing number of subscribers of YouTube yoga instructors. The numbers constantly kept rising each day. You know why? Yoga is grounding, mindful movement that really eases the body physically, mentally, and spiritually. Yoga became something that people relied on to bring them back to the present. It requires concentration, for you have to find balance while doing the poses and be in tune with your body. Multitasking will not be of benefit when you do yoga.
Before the pandemic lockdown hit, I did yoga here and there but never consistently. I did not appreciate it and thought that it was “boring.” If you feel the same way at first, I get it. It is nothing like HIIT or any other form of high intensity movement. However, I promise, really promise, that it is so good for the soul. It became my grounding mechanism after covid hit. I went from doing it once a month to doing it every single day. I look forward to yoga every morning. It is my motivator to wake up. From stretching my body to helping me focus, yoga is such a miraculous self-care move. There are so many instructors on YouTube that have classes that require no equipment at all, so no excuses! You never know if you like something unless you try it, and you just have to be optimistic about trying new:)
Yes! Yoga has helped me so much. It really allows me to maintain focus.
